(CHICAGO — June 2005) The fourth annual Crystal Awards, celebrating Catholic School Leadership in the Archdiocese of Chicago, recognized eleven retiring principals and an administrator from the Office of Catholic Schools at a recent ceremony held at the Drury Lane Oakbrook.
“We celebrate the accomplishments of our school leaders in the Archdiocese of Chicago by honoring the men and women who are retiring from this great ministry of service,” remarked Dr. Nicholas Wolsonovich, Superintendent of Schools, during the award ceremony. “We thank each of our retiring principals for all they have accomplished in keeping our schools Catholic, excellent and vital.”
The 2005 Crystal Awards were presented to:
- Sr. Jeanine Butler, OP, St. Helena of the Cross, Chicago
- Sr. Michael Marie Franzak, CSFN, St. Ann, Chicago
- Sr. M. Magdalene Kabat, SSJ, TOSF, St. Mary of Czestochowa, Cicero
- Lyn Keever, St. Florian, Chicago
- Carol A. Kolberg, St. Bartholomew, Chicago
- Robert M. Kman, Leo High School, Chicago
- Helen C. Kwiatowski, Our Lady of the Mount, Cicero
- Walter S. Marzec, SS. Faith, Hope & Charity, Winnetka
- Sr. Alice Myslinski, SSJ, TOSF, Good Shepherd, Chicago
- Kathryn J. Tomlin, St. Nicholas of Tolentine, Chicago
- Barbara J. Wesolowski, St. Damien, Oak Forest
- Barbara O’Block, Ed.D., Associate Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, Office of Catholic Schools who also served as principal at three Archdiocesan Schools including Our Lady of Knock School in Calumet City.
